Applications for insurance of agricultural production started

The State Fund Agriculture announces the start of accepting applications under the State Aid Scheme for co-financing of insurance premiums for insuring agricultural production.

Applications may be submitted to the Fund’s regional directorates from 25 March 2024 until the scheme is exhausted, but no later than 31 July 2024.

The deadline for submitting insurance policies to the ‘PIMP’ departments of the State Fund for Agriculture is 30 August 2024.

Objective of aid

To encourage micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, farmers, producers of fruit, vegetables (arable and greenhouse), essential oil and medicinal crops, tobacco, cereals (wheat, barley and maize) and oilseed crops (sunflower and rape), for voluntary insurance of agricultural production against adverse climatic events which can be assimilated to natural disasters and other adverse climatic events, by means of partial reimbursement of the cost of taking out an insurance policy.

The aid comes as part of the insurance premiums paid by farmers insuring primary agricultural production of cereals, oilseeds, essential oils, medicinal plants, fruit and vegetables and tobacco.
