The Civil Liability of The Carrier with Land Motor Vehicle – CMR is an insurance according to which the material liability of the carrier for the complete or partial absence or damage of the transported goods on the road is covered.
What risks does this insurance cover?
- For international transport, according to Chapter IV of the Convention on the International Carriage of Goods by Road /CMR/;
- For transport on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, according to section IV of the Road Transport Act.
Who has the right to carry out transportation?
Transportation of goods is performed by a carrier who has a license for the carriage of goods on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria or a license for the international carriage of goods – Community License.
What are the limits of liability?
- For international transport – according to art. 23, para. 3 of the Convention on the International Carriage of Goods by Road;
- For transportation on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria – according to art. 71, para. 3 of the Road Transport Act.
